The dialog between God and the tree of knowledge
This is my English assignment about Genesis with Alice and Tunsen, and it's so great to got the high grade from Sarah today.
My duty is about God, this part is a little difficult for me. I have asked my Christian friends and pastor to discuss God's behaviour, I als0 look up the information from internet.
Finally, I set a dialog between God and the tree of knowledge to talk about that why God did those things with Adam and Eve.
Tree: It’s so sad that Adam and Eve will leave the Garden of Eden. There is no one can play and talk with me. Dear Lord, why did you punish them?
Tree: It’s so sad that Adam and Eve will leave the Garden of Eden. There is no one can play and talk with me. Dear Lord, why did you punish them?
God: I didn’t want to do that, but they against my rules. In the beginning I established a Kingdom-My people, living in my place, under my rule and blessing….
Tree: Yes, I saw you created Adam and Eve to rule this world and be in relationship with you, and with each other…and the relationship is loving and blessing. I think everything is good just like what you said.
God: But they broke the relationship with me…they disobeyed my word….
Tree: I know you had said to them: They can eat all the fruit of tree of life in the garden but except the fruit of mine. And you also warn them if them did then they surely die.
God: Yes, I had said that, but I don’t care whether they eat the fruit of knowledge or not, I care they rebelled against me. Actually, before they disobeyed me, their nakedness was not a problem. They hide nothing from each other. But I know when they eat your fruit they will cover up from each other, just like what you see they sewed fig leaves together and made coverings for themselves.
Tree: Ya…I feel more comfortable before they wear the fig leaves, and they were honest to each other, but now they blame to each other now…When you asks Adam if he has eaten from mine, Adam’s first response is to blame his wife, but he spoke in romantic poetry to her then ‘This is now bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh; she shall be called “women” for she was taken out of man.’ I think Adam didn’t take responsibility for his own actions, but was blaming his wife.
God: You are a tree of much observation. Their life became inward and selfish. Adam and Eve wanted to be their own gods, everything is ruined. There is a relationship that had broke down with me and with each other. So, I must punished human rebellion.
Tree: But if you really didn’t want them to eat my fruit, why did you create me in the garden?
God: Well, Do you remember before I created Adam that I had breathed into his nostrils the breath of life? In that time I also gave him the knowledge and power to rule over all the creatures in the world. So, they should know how to make out the good and evil. I told them couldn’t eat you fruit for…
Tree: You wanted to test them.
God: Yes, you got it. I wanted to test their loyalty for I also have given them a free will to choose to obey my words or rebel against my rule. If they obey my rules, they can eat all the fruit in the Garden of Eden, then will get forever life without sorrow for eat. If they don’t then they surely die. But I really sad about they did to listen the serpent’s word and against my rule.
Tree: Dear Lord, I think the worst guy is the serpent….
God: Yes, I also had a judgment on the serpent was to make war between Satan and one of Eve’s offspring. The seed of the woman will crush Satan, even though Satan will injure her. I was going to defeat the devil by a human being who will come Eve’s family line. War is the judgment on the devil-a war that he is going to lose.
Tree: Why didn’t you let them die for they rebel your rules?
God: Although I have said “ For in the day that you eat thereof you surely die.” I still give them mercy and just punish them to work hard for their living to replace of die. So, the spiritually life dead, the physically life didn’t die on that day although they didn’t deserve.
Tree: So, although you put Adam and Eve out of the Garden of Eden, but that doing is good for them, for they ate the fruit of the tree of life they will live forever as rebels against you, with a disobedient nature. But if they go out of the garden and die, then they will not have to spend forever as rebels against you.
God: I think you can read my mind.
Tree: Dear Lord, I know you must very sad about them. I still want to know that you should know everything in the world why did you ask them: “Where are you?” and “What have you done?” after Adam and Eve ate the fruit of the tree of knowledge and they hid from you among the trees of the garden.
God: Ha-ha-ha…Yes, I know where they are, but I want Adam and Eve to come out and talk. I want to give them an opportunity to own up and take responsibility for their wrong actions. I hope them to admit they have rebelled against me.
Tree: Yeah…. finally, they had answered your call.
God: Yes. It made me feel better that they have regretted about their doing.
Tree: Hey, Adam and Eve are walking to you now.
God: Yes. I see.
Adam: Dear Lord, I’m very sorry to go against your rules. I’m leaving now. I will obey your command to work harder with my wife Eve and I hope one day I will return to the Garden of Eden.
God: You will come back to me if you keep walking in my way and cooperate with your wife to work hard; especially don’t listen to the other words from serpent.
Eve: Dear Lord, thanks your kindness didn’t make us die. I will desire my husband and listen your words. Never to listen the serpent’s any words, and I will be the enemy to it and to crush his head.
God: Good. Eve, you will be the mother of all the living. I also had give both of you the free willing to choose what to do, how to do, when to do, where to do? So, everything you do have to think it carefully and don’t easy to jump in the trap.
Adam & Eve: Thanks My Lord.
